The Piketon Redstreaks girls basketball team had a harsh upset Monday night at the Waverly Downtown Arena. The team that has battled to come so far lost to Fairland. Fairland destroyed the Redstreaks, beating them 51-30.
Leading the fight against Fairland was Redstreak Kara Blanton. Blanton scored nine points from four-two point baskets and one of two free throws. Piketon had no players that scored in the double digits.
The leading scorer of the game was Emily Chapman. Chapman scored 15 points. During the game, she made four-two point field goals and one of one free throws.
Fairland will go on to play Lynchburg-Clay at noon on Saturday on Waverly High School. Lynchburg-Clay also won their game against Piketon on Monday in Waverly just prior to Fairland facing Piketon.
