The Portsmouth Trojans edged over the South Point Pointers in a game that ended 71-66 at South Point. Both teams fought hard, taking the game into overtime. Both teams were at 57 at the end of the fourth. However, the Trojans scored 14 to South Point’s nine in OT.
Trojan Kendal Reynolds led all scorers with 23 points.
Reynolds’ points came on eight field goals, one-three pointer and four of six successful free throws during the game. The Trojans also got 15 points from DJ Eley and 12 points from Daniel Jordan.
The Pointers were led by Elijah Adams, who contributed 20 points and Douglas Shaffer, who added 11.
Portsmouth will host the Chesapeake Panthers on Friday Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
