The Notre Dame Titans (11-4,7-2) faced off against the Green Bobcats on the road Tuesday night. Green started out in the lead, but the Titans recovered after the half, winning the game 51-39.
“Despite the fact that Notre Dame was outplayed by Green (Franklin Furnace, OH) during the first half of the game, Notre Dame showed up with solid play in the last half of the game. Notre Dame solidified their lead in the final quarter, scoring 22 points,” Titan Head Coach Garrick Anderson stated. “After being down 20 points at one point in the 2nd quarter, we were able to cut the lead to 12 going into halftime. I told our kids that it starts on the defensive end and in order for us to get back into the game we must defend.”
Notre Dame was led by Ben Mader.
“Mader blazed a trail for Notre Dame’s offense with 12 points, including seven points during the fourth period,” Anderson commented.
However, the win was a total team effort.
“Trevon Turner made it into double digits, scoring 11 points for Notre Dame (4-for-6). Also helping the effort for Notre Dame were Grant Sparks (9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block), Aaron Bazler (8 points), Sam Kayser (7 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals), and Isiah Johnson (4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block). Turner was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up seven rebounds and two steals,” said Anderson.
Total the team finished with 34 rebounds (16 offensive / 18 defensive), two blocks and four steals.
Notre Dame will go on to play Friday night at home against Western.
