The Notre Dame girls basketball fought for a large win over the Clay Lady Panthers Thursday night at home.
“We got off to a great start defensively and caused a bunch of turnovers that lead to some good looks for us. The girls played very unselfishly kicking the ball up court and transition,” said Notre Dame Head Coach JD McKenzie.
Leading for the Titans (13-1, 10-0) was Hagen Schaefer with 21 points. Schaefer also added five rebounds and three assists. Lexi Smith supported Schaefer with 14 points, followed by Katie Dettwiller with 13 points, 12 rebounds and three steals.
“Lexi, Katie and Catelynn did a tremendous job sprinting the floor in transition and controlling the paint on both ends of the court,” McKenzie commented. “Our defense tonight really set the tone and lead to a very effective night on the offensive side of the ball. I was really proud of the girls effort tonight.”
Leading for the Panthers (10-5, 7-3) was Jensen Warnock with 13 points.
The Panthers will go on to play at West on Monday. Also Monday night, the Titans will face the Valley Lady Indians.
