Jonessa Moore was named Mid-South Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday afternoon.
Moore played twice in the Keiser University Classic as the Bears went 2-0. Moore scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Shawnee State past Valley City State (ND) 78-75. Moore followed that with 15 points and six rebounds to help the Bears defeat host school Keiser 61-49.
The award is Moore’s second on the season, joining Nicole Bowers of Cumberland (Tenn.) and Devin Conley of Pikeville as two-time winners this season. The award is also the second of her career.
The senior from Cincinnati, Ohio is averaging 19.9 points and 7.8 rebounds on the season. Moore leads the Mid-South Conference in scoring and field goal percentage, and is seventh in rebounding per game.
