Portsmouth, Ohio – Shawnee State women’s golf signed two more recruits for their 2017 recruiting class, welcoming Holley Hart from Falmouth, Kentucky and Savannah McCoy from Peebles, Ohio.
Holley Hart is the daughter of Darin and Julie Hart and is a senior at Pendleton County High School in Falmouth, Kentucky and played golf for head coach Timothy Cooper.
Hart has lettered in golf at Pendleton County for seven years, with Kentucky eligibility rules allowing her to start playing in sixth grade.
Holly was a Kentucky High School Athletics Association individual state qualifier four times, in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016. She placed fourth place in the Region Eight Tournament in 2014 and 2016, and was fifth in 2015.
Holly is also great in the classroom, maintaining a 4.0 GPA all four years of high school and was named a KHSAA Academic All-State First Team honoree in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Hart has also played tennis for three seasons, reaching the Region 10 District tournament quarterfinals in 2016.
Savannah McCoy is the daughter of Chad and Angie McCoy and is a senior at Peebles High School in Peebles, Ohio and has played golf for four years under head coach Vohn Hoop.
Savannah was an All-County and All-Southern Hills Athletic Conference selection, and was second team All-District her junior and senior seasons. Savannah qualified for the Division III District tournament her junior year. Savannah also lettered four seasons in cheerleading at Peebles.
The signing of Hart and McCoy brings coach Dave Hopkins’ recruiting class up to four members for the 2017-18 school year. Taylor Boggs and Katherine Pirro signed last month.
