The Green Bobcats travel to Northwest high school Friday evening to face the 0-8 Mohawks. The Mohawks haven’t had the season they were expecting, but they look to keep fighting with the season almost coming to an end. The 3-5 Bobcats have had 3 consecutive losses and are trying to end the losing streak. With just two weeks left in the season, this conference game is going to be a tough matchup between two win-seeking teams.

Head Green coach Ted Newsome said “We’ve prepared for this game like we do for every week. We study our film, get our scout reports for our coaches ready, and we deliver that to the guys on Monday’s. We go out and execute the game plan and have had good practices all week in preparation for this weeks game.”

“We really anticipate it to be a close game with two pretty evenly matched teams. Northwest has more of an advantage up front with their guys just because of more experience. We are a pretty inexperienced team and got a lot of young kids on the offensive and defensive lines but overall we think it’s going to be pretty evenly matched game and come down to the end.” coach Newsome added.

Head coach of the Mohawks, Doug Montavon said “We have had a couple of the Juniors step up and start showing some leadership skills now that it’s getting to the end of the season. Hobby Howard and Kyle Lessly have stepped up specifically.”

“Coach Newsome is doing a good job up there with that program and it is going to be a tough matchup. They line up in a six-man front to prevent you from being physical and we are going to have to come out and play some smash mouth football.” said Montavon

Heading into this week’s game, the Green Bobcats sit at fifth place in the conference, while Northwest sits in last at seventh place. For Northwest, this is the seniors last home game so Coach Montavon is looking forward to sending them away with one last home win,.

This evenly matched contest will be played at Northwest high school with kickoff starting at 7 p.m.
