The South Webster Jeeps finished the regular season with a 15-0-1 mark, 6-0 in SOC play, with a 7-0 victory over the Clay Panthers Saturday.

South Webster was led by Alek Blevins who scored a hat trick. Shane Zimmerman notched two goals and an assist. Sam Holstein, who recorded the first goal of the contest, also had a strong performance, lighting the lamp once and adding a helper.

“I knew we would have a good team this year and we could pull off an undefeated season, but these guys have done that in a way that surpassed my expectations,” Jeeps head coach Corey Claxon said. “Clay finished in second place in the conference and they have some good players on their team, but we just have an exceptional amount of talent on this team.”

The Jeeps will have a bye as sectional play kicks off Wednesday. South Webster will play the winner of Belpre and Southeastern, Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m.

“We hope to advance to District play at Athens High School again on (Oct.) 22nd. Our draw looks pretty good, so it will be exciting to see what we can accomplish in the post season.”
