Northwest 8, Adena 0

The Northwest Mohawks defeated the Adena Warriors on the soccer field Thursday evening by a final score of 8-0.

The Mohawks found a hole in the Warriors defensive wall eight times in their shutout victory, which saw seven of the goals set up by an assist.

“We came back strong and played more team soccer,” Northwest soccer coach Josh Keeney said. “We had gotten away from what we have been doing well, but looked better tonight.”

Keeney was proud of the way his team played together, noting the seven assisted goals scored by the Mohawks.

“When you score eight goals and seven are assisted, you know it’s a team wein,” Keeney said.

Northwest’s defense didn’t let up the entire match, as they stifled multiple scoring attempts by Adena.

“Defensively we played another strong game as well, keeping the shutout.”

The Mohawks return to the pitch Tuesday evening when they host the Minford Falcons. Start time for the Mohawks and Falcons has been set for 5 p.m.
