The very core and foundation of life is the marvelous truth that one day, Jesus Christ was born.
The Book of 1Timothy 3:16 in the New Testament of the Bible states, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
Unfathomable as it may be with the limitations of the human mind, one day Jesus Christ was born, for one purpose, to reconcile mankind back to God. Now, we know that there is no biblical or historical evidence which substantiates Dec. 25, as the day that Jesus was conceived through the Virgin Mary, but one thing my heart and soul knows is that one day —- Jesus was born.
Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God was born for you and for me because the Bible tells us so! Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, through a miraculous birth did the unimaginable! As we move through this holiday season my friend, have you thought about it?
Yes, it is a busy time of year. The gift-wrappings, putting up the tree, planning dinners and time with family and friends. Or maybe depression settles in because of lack of materials things, but let this thought permeate your mind which embodies the true meaning of the Christmas season — Jesus is the reason for this season. Henceforth, it may sound like a cliché. In the midst of my travels, as I have moved about from neighborhood to neighborhood working, it has been great to see so many Nativity scenes in the outside decorations of homes.
Yes, Santa is great, and Frosty the Snowman too, but Jesus is the best thing, from everlasting to everlasting. If perhaps, you do not know who Jesus is, I want to encourage you pray, and ask the Lord to come into your heart, and or seek out a church, and talk with a pastor or someone who can point you to the Savior. Knowing, loving, and celebrating Jesus transcends Dec. 25.
When you know Jesus as Lord, there is just a peace that dwells within your heart which no care in this world can remove, because his peace is not of this world. Another thing about knowing Jesus is that it incites a desire in your heart to do as the hymn instructs, “Go tell it on the mountain, that Jesus Christ is born.”
To my fellow Christians, if you are not already doing so, tell someone else about Jesus. That is why he saved us, so that we would share his love, so that everyone will know about him. You do not have to be sad or depressed. Jesus was born! You do not have to feel hopeless Jesus was born! Merry Christmas my friends!
