A Dodge Caravan being operated as a Portsmouth Taxi ended up on its side following a collision with a parked car in front of 1045 Coles Blvd., at 9:50 p.m. Thursday, according to city police.
The driver of the taxi, a Portsmouth woman, 29, identified as Randi Davis, along with her son, Josiah Bower, 13, who was in the taxi at the time of the accident, were taken to Southern Ohio Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. Davis was charged with failure to control in the accident. Another passenger in the taxi, presumably a taxi client, was not injured.
According to a police report, a witness, who was driving behind the taxi, stated Davis was westbound on Coles when she allegedly drifted to the right side of the road striking a parked car which ended up pushed onto the sidewalk. No one was in the parked car at the time.
