Drugs, guns, allegedly stolen merchandise and cash were all confiscated and two people arrested on a warrant over the weekend. Timothy Neff, Jr., 37, and Jeremy C. McGhee, 34, both of 1911 Summit Street in Portsmouth, were taken into custody at around 2:54 p.m. Sunday.
The Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, with assistance from detectives and officers with the Portsmouth Police Department and detectives with the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, executed a narcotics-related search warrant at the Summit Street address.
Detectives said they seized suspected heroin, suspected methamphetamine, suspected Oxycodone pills, suspected Alprazolam pills, suspected Suboxone, several firearms, approximately $860 cash, a stolen ATV, additional stolen property they believed to be derived from the proceeds of drug trafficking, and evidence suspected of being related to drug trafficking.
Neff was arrested on a warrant on indictment, pertaining to several felony drug-related offenses, that had been issued by the Scioto County Common Pleas Court after a case had been presented to a Scioto County grand jury by task force detectives and the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office.
McGhee was also arrested on a warrant on indictment, pertaining to the felony offenses of burglary and safecracking, that had also been issued by the Scioto County Common Pleas Court.
Both Neff and McGhee were placed in the Scioto County Jail and are waiting to be arraigned in Scioto County Common Pleas Court.
The case against Neff and other individuals believed to have been involved with Neff, will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County grand jury for the consideration of additional felony drug – related charges.
