Flatwoods, Ky. — Singer/songwriter and Flatwoods native, Larry Pancake, will release a new single entitled, ‘A Little Whiskey’ on the 9 Lives label Friday, Aug. 5.
Pancake recorded the new music with his friend, Kris Bentley, one half of the Kentucky duo, Sundy Best. Bentley is known for his cajon playing and songwriting in the group. Sundy Best have had commercial success with musical hits, I Wanna Go Home,’ and ‘Until I Met You.’ Sundy Best is also named on the Country Music Highway.
Gary Kesling, of 9 Lives Records label, said he is excited about the Pancake’s new release.
“9 Lives Records is very excited about the new single from Larry. It may very well be the best song he has written,” Kesling said. “We look forward to sharing it with his current and future fans.”
‘A Little Whiskey’ was recorded at 9 Lives Studios located in Ashland, Kentucky, and mixed by multiple gold and platinum award winning producer/engineer, Frank Green of Digital Master Music Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.
Green began his career in Nashville at CBS Recording Studios, which later became Sony and then became chief engineer/producer at the famed Sun Records in Nashville.
Additionally, Green has worked as an engineer with artists such as Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, The Oak Ridge Boys and many more.
“Larry’s new song, ‘A Little Whiskey’ is very pensive with a hauntingly soulful vocal. Great job, LP,” Green said.
Pancake also believes ‘A Little Whiskey’ is one of his best songs thus far in his musical career.
“It is one of the best songs I’ve written,” Pancake said. “It was great to work with all the guys again, and I appreciate Kris from Sundy Best for coming to town and recording with me, and I am looking forward to sharing my new music with my fans.”
