LUCASVILLE — According to reports form Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini’s Office, an investigation into a stabbing which took place on Oakwood Ave. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, in Lucasville has led to the arrest of Ronnie Travis Harmon, 37, of Lucasville in connection to the incident.
Authorities said the stabbing crime was committed on Oakwood Ave. an area commonly referred to as the Lucasville Bottoms, where a father and son were attacked and stabbed with a knife. The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at approximately 11:18 p.m. on July 14, 2015, from the residence, stating that two individuals had been stabbed with a knife.
The caller also told dispatchers that the man that had stabbed the two men had ran on foot in an unknown direction. The two male victims were transported to Southern Ohio Medical Center by Valley Twp. Ambulance. Authorities said the older of the two victims had to be taken to Grant Hospital Trauma Center for the serious nature of his wounds.
Deputies and Detectives were dispatched to the scene where evidence was collected along with witness statements. After a search was conducted on July 14, officers were unable to locate the suspect.
Attempts were made the following day but were also unsuccessful. On July 16, 2015, authorities received information regarding the location of the suspect, who reportedly was still in the area. Detectives were able to take him into custody without incident.
Harmon has been charged with two counts of Felonious Assault a felony of the second degree and tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree. Harmon is being held in the Scioto County Jail on $50,000 bond and will be arraigned on the charges Friday, July 17, in Portsmouth Municipal Court.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, more charges will be presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury at a later date.The motive for the attack has not yet been determined however officials have not ruled out drugs as a major contributing factor.
