Bond has been set for $67,500 for a Scioto County man charged with attempted murder. Branch J. Doll, 27, of 1539 Second St., West Portsmouth is charged with attempted murder, a felony of the first degree; tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree; having weapons while under the influence, also a third degree felony; improper discharging of a firearm at a habitation, a second degree felony; resisting arrest, a felony of the second degree and assault on a peace officer, a fourth degree felony.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office received multiple 911 calls Sunday from the neighborhood of Second Street West Portsmouth at approximately 7:51 p.m. Donini said the callers reported an unknown male was in a front yard firing shots at another neighbor’s house and they did not know who he was.

Donini said the Washington Township deputy responded immediately and detained a male who reportedly offered resistance and had to be subdued by a conducted electrical weapon.

Doll was scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court Monday morning.

Donini said anyone with any information on the case may contact Captain Robert Woodford at 740-354-7566. He said all calls will remain anonymous.
