Vehicles towed from murder scene

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is not saying much about the latest activity at the scene of eight murders in Pike County. Jill del Greco, of DeWine’s office was asked about vehicles being removed from the scene.

“Vehicles were towed from the scene Tuesday in connection with the investigation,” del Greco told the Daily Times. She did not elaborate except to say – “that’s really all we’re saying about it though. Nothing new that we can say publicly.”

Monday, authorities announced more than 100 total items of evidence had been sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) crime laboratory for DNA, ballistics, latent prints and trace analysis. BCI and Pike County Sheriff investigators had, at that time, conducted 128 witness interviews and witness contacts as part of the ongoing investigation.

Since April 22, more than 450 tips had been received by both BCI and the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.

A funeral service was held for six of the victims Tuesday at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home. Funerals were held for two others earlier – one at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore and the other at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway.
