Greenup Swap Days held

GREENUP, Ky. — The Greenup County fair board hosted the annual Greenup Swap and Trade Days April 29-May 1, at the Greenup County Fairgrounds, a highly-anticipated event in the area.

Free parking and free admission, a host of booths to visit, and great food to enjoy, hundreds of bargain seekers entered the Greenup County Fairgrounds over the course of the three day period for the annual Swap and Trade Days event.

Anita Johnson, Greenp County fair board member, said Swap and Trade Days garners support from people beyond Greenup County.

“People from all over will bring in anything they have to sell, from items out of their sheds, to things that they actually make themselves,” Johnson said. “It is a three-day event, and we charge a minimum fee for vendors who want a spot.”

Typically, Swap and Trade Day goers find what they are looking for, according to Johnson.

“We always have a good turnout, great participation as long as the weather holds. They come out looking for all sorts of things, and they seem to always find what they are looking for. It makes for a wonderful community event that I believe people really look forward to,” she said.

Vendors provided items such as hand-crafted jewelry, electronic items such as laptop computers, cellular phone accessories, clothing, tools, and more much for the public to help themselves to.
