Scioto County Commissioners Bryan Davis and Mike Crabtree recently attended an economic development symposium, held by the County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) in Columbus. Crabtree and Davis said they learned a lot from the experience.

“Economic development is key to Scioto County’s future,” Davis said. “CCAO’s day-long symposium proved to be an excellent opportunity to work with economic development partners as we gained insight and discovered ways to advance our county.”

The symposium featured informational sessions aimed at informing participants about economic development throughout Ohio. Also in attendance were economic development experts and business leaders. According to released information about the symposium, participants explored what economic development experts considered most important when it comes to starting, building, expanding or relocating a business. Participants also shared thoughts on what counties can and should be doing to foster economic growth.

Davis said he thought the sessions on land banks and infrastructure funding were the most informative. Crabtree said he found a lot of valuable information from the sessions he attended.

The County Commissioners Association of Ohio is an organization that supports effective county government, through legislative advocacy, education and training, technical assistance and research.
