WHEELERSBURG — The photo doesn’t reveal very much, but the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office is hoping that someone will recognize something about the person in a surveillance photo and shed some light on a weekend robbery.

Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office received a 911 call from Clark’s Pump and Shop located at 312 Center Street in Wheelersburg at around 4:58 a.m. on Sunday stating that they had just been robbed.

Donini said deputies were on the scene within minutes and were advised by the store clerk, that a white male subject around 6 feet tall wearing jeans and a black hoodie covering his head as well as a mask on his face entered the store pointing a gun at the clerk and a customer demanding the clerk empty out the cash register.

The suspect reportedly left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Deputies were able to track the suspect’s escape route through a field near Downtown Hayport Road before losing his tracks.

A surveillance photo was released to the Daily Times, and authorities are advising that anyone with information about the case to contact detective Jodi Conkel at 740-351-1091.

Donini said all information will be kept confidential.
