PORTSMOUTH — Better Business Bureau (BBB) will be hosting a Digital Open House on Wednesday, March 16, at 11:30 a.m. at the Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce, 342 Second Street in the Welcome Center.

Sandra Guile, Community Relations Specialist of the BBB out of Cincinnati, said the Digital Open House is a unique way to reach out and share information regarding BBB.

Through this live, online presentation, BBB will stream its message of marketplace ethics, community outreach and how to best help people in the greater Portsmouth community.

“This is a unique opportunity for everyone to come in, grab lunch and learn what BBB is all about. There are so many different levels of service, opportunities and ways we reach into the community that we felt the best way to reach a large audience was to broadcast it online,” Guile said. “Then, we wanted keep the conversation going in person, answering questions and keeping a personal touch to it by being right in Portsmouth. The unique thing about this is that we are going to be opening it up to everybody that happens to surfing the Web.”

This will be the second BBB Digital Open House, and is open to everyone in the community.

“This is actually the second Digital Open House event. When did one last fall at Shawnee State University, and this will be the first time for us to hold one over at the Chamber of Commerce at the Welcome Center,” Guile said. “We received some interest over at Shawnee State University, and we are hoping to expand that reach, and the doors are wide open to everybody. It is open to community members, charity members, law enforcement officials, business owners, just anybody in the greater Portsmouth area.”

Lunch is included for this free event featuring a representative from BBB in person who will moderate the webinar that will host the BBB staff in Cincinnati.

Topics include will include the Anatomy of a Business Review, What is the Business and Consumer Value of BBB? The Importance of Charity Reviews, and BBB In Your Community.

Packets of information regarding BBB will also be distributed at the event. The link to join the Google Hangout and listen in on the conversation during the event is: https://plus.google.com/events/co28ad5o9gb4efp5rmtejmg77rso.
