GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. — Johnny B. Clark, 48, of Argillite, Ky., along with his son, John D. Clark, 21, also of Argillite, Ky. appeared in court room of Judge Robert B. Conley on Wednesday, according to Greenup County Circuit Court staff.
Both men were recently indicted by a grand jury on one count of murder and two counts of tampering with evidence. Additionally, Johnny Clark has been charged with possession of firearm by a convicted felon.
Johnny Clark and John Clark were arrested by Kentucky State Police on Jan. 9, 2016, after receiving a call from the Greenup County Sheriff’s Department, who was in need of assistance regarding an alleged shooting which occurred at 32 Moccasin Way in Argillite, Ky.
The murder victim is Todd Anthony Rowe, 35, of Argillite, Ky. Reportedly, Rowe had been by shot one of the two suspects, Johhny Clark and John Clark, who were both arrested and taken into custody.
A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, in which both Clark suspects stood before Judge McCloud. At the completion of the hearing, McCloud bound both cases over to a to a grand jury, according to court staff.
A determination could not be made in the initial stages of the investigation of which one of the Clark men actually fired the shot that led to Rowe’s death. New evidence suggests that both men fired one shot, according to court records.
The two Clark suspects remain lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center on a $100,000 or property each. They are both scheduled to appear in court on April 14, 2016, at 1 p.m. for a pre-trial hearing, according to court staff.
