SOUTH SHORE, Ky. — McKell Public Library was filled with a host of talented authors in the form of KYOWA Writers on Saturday. The group gathered at the library for the book release of Fresh Currents,’ and ‘Yours Forever.’
KYOWA Writers is a writing group composed of authors from Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. There were smiles, laughter, and refreshments as the members signed copies of their books as the public came in.
Fonda Warnock, president of KYOWA, said ‘Fresh Currents’ is an anthology of stories with a pirate theme.
“This book has a pirate theme. All of the stories are loosely-based, some of them are not about pirates, and some have just an element of pirates, but they are all based on different pirate themes,” Warnock said. “Yours 4Ever is a series of romantic short stories by a few of the KYOWA Writers.
Cathie Shaffer, a KYOWA member, said they are excited to see Fresh Currents come into fruition.
“This anthology has been in the works for a while, and we are very excited to have it out,” Shaffer said. “We decided to release it here in South Shore because we have a number of members here, and this is an area that has been very supportive of KYOWA Writers. We love the library, and we love to be able to do things like that at the library.”
KYOWA Writers books Fresh Currents and Yours Forever may be purchased online on Amazon.com. Additionally, the books are available by stopping in Guardian Animal Medical Center in Flatwoods, Ky. and the Greenup County News-Times in downtown Greenup, Ky.
