SOVMH: Clearing Along S.R. 335 Will Require Restrictions

Chillicothe (Wednesday, January 10, 2016) – State Route 335 will be restricted this week for clearing operations as part of the Southern Ohio Veterans Memorial Highway construction project in Scioto County.

On Thursday and Friday, February 11 and 12, crews from the Portsmouth Joint Venture (PJV) will be clearing within the project right of way along S.R. 335, between County Road 31 (Swauger Valley Road) and C.R. 246 (Stout Hollow Road). Traffic will be reduced to one lane from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, and in addition to the single-lane restriction, S.R. 335 may be closed temporarily when crews are falling trees.

Throughout both days, traffic will be maintained by flaggers, and during intermittent periods of closure, traffic will be stopped and held before being released. As the periods of closure will be for a limited duration, there will be no posted detour. However, motorists are advised that they may encounter short-term delays at any time during operations.

Motorists are also reminded of the need for additional caution throughout the corridor, where crews and heavy equipment are moving in and out of the work zone.
