‘Drowsy Lads’ to headline Scioto Society fundraiser

The Scioto Society, producers of the outdoor drama “Tecumseh!” are extremely excited to announce their second annual spring fundraiser — “Cead Mile Failte” — on March 12th at St. Peters Hall in downtown Chillicothe.

“Last year was our inaugural event and we felt really good about it. We had set out to put on a fundraiser that was fun, different, casual and most importantly not stuffy. The sold out crowd told us we did it all right and to please do it again. So, we are changing up some things to keep it fresh, but I predict this will once again be the party that Chillicothe talks about for the next 12 months. Sure, we’ll have all the normal fundraiser stuff including a small live auction that Price Auction Services are going to handle and a silent auction with a fantastic collection of items. But it’s going to be a big night. The Drowsy Lads are the hottest young Irish band in Ohio. Dan Ramey, Bob Neal will share emcee duties and Jan Nusbaum has done a terrific job of getting the best food, the best drinks and the best auction items. The food is being catered by The Old Canal Smokehouse, Sally Rathcamp, The Brick, Carls Townhouse, Market No 9, and Fire and Stone Pizza, so you’ll have the best of Chillicothe all in one room. What other event have you been to in Chillicothe that had a Paul McCartney signed item up for sale?” Brandon Smith, CEO of the Scioto Society, said.

The event will be held in the stunningly renovated St. Peters Hall and offer a glimpse into a historic building that many people may not have had the opportunity to see.

Several local caterers will provide the food including. Sara Myers of High Five Cakes will again be creating a showpiece of a cake for the event.

“Her creation was the most talked about bakery item in Ross County last year and I have no doubt she’ll outdo herself yet again. There’s some surprises still in store. But I can tell you this…the event is going to sell out again, it will be the party of the year again and I don’t recommend waiting to get a ticket,” Smith said.

Tickets are $75 each or $550 for reserved tables of eight. Ticket includes dinner, champagne and the show. Tickets are available now by calling 740-775-4100.

Cead Mile Failte is presented by Huntington Bank with support from G&J Pespi Bottlers
