WHEELERSBURG — Moviegoers, rejoice!
For the first time since March 16, Wheelersburg Cinema will be open to the public and doing what they do best: showing movies.
Tim Shively, general manager of Wheelersburg Cinema, confirmed to the Daily Times earlier this week that it would be reopening its’ doors Friday, June 12, in accordance with the state of Ohio’s Responsible Restart guidelines for businesses during the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are excited to reopen and get back to making the best popcorn!” Shively said June 5 via the Wheelersburg Cinema Facebook.
During their first week of reopening, Wheelersburg Cinema will be offering discounted tickets for those who bring a canned food item at their time of purchase. The Wheelersburg Cinema schedule for June 12-18 is as follows:

Portsmouth 8 Cinema informed The Portsmouth Daily Times Tuesday it was targeting a July 1 reopening date. Similar to Wheelersburg Cinema, Portsmouth 8 has also been closed from showing films since March 16.
