Scioto County Fair Board Secretary and Treasurer Rob Seaman, on behalf of the Scioto County Agricultural Society, provided an update on Friday regarding the Scioto County Fair scheduled for August 10-15 . The release stated that a majority of the fair would be cancelled, with the exception of Junior Fair.
“After careful consideration and discussion and due to circumstances out of our control, the Scioto County Fair Board has decided to cancel the Senior Fair portion of our annual event. This means that there will be no Midway rides, no games, vendors or entertainment.
This decision has been a very difficult one, but with the uncertaint of social distancing and mass gatherings for the summer related to the COVID-19 pandemic we feel that it is in the best interest of our community to make the decision at this time.
We are in the planning stages currently, of offering some type of Junior Fair for those children involved in 4H and FFA. This will take place during our scheduled fair week. We will be working in partnership with the Scioto County Health Department to make sure all safety guidelines are in place for this event. Please be aware that this is very fluid situation and further details will be available regarding the Junior Fair procedures in the near future,” read the release.
“We will be using this time wiel to ensure that our experience at the 2021 Scioto County Fair will be bigger and better, and please continue to support those children who will be working on their 4H and FFA projects this summer.”
