There are several things people in the community look forward to celebrating at the start of every year, including “Baby New Year.”
This year’s Baby New Year at Southern Ohio Medical Center (SOMC) was Macee Jo Branham. The daughter of Cody and Hannah Branham.
The baby was born seven pounds and 14 ounces at 12:03 a.m.
She was delivered by Dr. Darren Adams with the assistance of Labor and Delivery Nurse Taryn Freeman and Nursery Nurse Ashley Parker.
H&R Block celebrated the last baby born in 2015 at SOMC with a gift basket and coupon for free tax preparation.
According to information from H&R Block, “babies born during the final days of the year may pay off the biggest – at least when it comes to taxes. Even babies just minutes old as the clock strikes midnight on Dec. 31 qualify for the full year of the beneficial Child Tax Credit, earning the happy parents a $1,000 tax credit. What’s even better news? The tax implications resulting from having a child extend far beyond claiming a dependent. Understanding how having children and other major life events impact taxes can help parents make the most of tax planning.”
The last baby born in 2015 was Reagan Charity Jones the daughter of Mariah Spriggs and Daniel Jones.
