Winter weather may finally make an appearance this weekend into next week according to an alert from the Scioto County Emergency Management Association.

Scioto County EMA alerted on Thursday that a hazardous weather outlook has been issued from the National Weather Service in Wilmington for multiple counties in Ohio, including Scioto, Adams and Pike counties, for Friday and ending Wednesday.

The hazardous weather is expected to span roughly one week, beginning with light snow and a glaze of ice with snow into Friday morning continuing throughout the next few days. While heavy snow is not anticipated, the combination of ice and light snow may impact morning travel while conditions persist according to the alert.

NWS reminds weather spotters are encouraged to report snow and ice accumulations to the National Weather Service.
