Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Interim Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer announced two men have been arrested after a warranted search in Portsmouth.
Carlson Craft and Tommy Jones were arrested Jan. 20 at 4141 Hill Road Portsmouth, Ohio. At 1:25 p.m. The Southern Ohio Drug Task Force was assisted by the Portsmouth Police Department SWAT and P.D. canine team in executing a search warrant on the dead-end street.
While the search was in progress at the Portsmouth residence, Craft, 40, was arrested and charged with ‘Having a Weapon While Under Disability,’ a 3rd-degree felony.
Three firearms, approximately $2,500 in cash, and digital scales were discovered on the premise. Additionally, an unknown bag of powder and a small amount of suspected marijuana were seized.
On the behest of the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Jones, 35 of Dayton, Ohio, was arrested for violating parole.
Both men were placed in the Scioto County Jail. Craft was to be arranged on Jan. 21, at the Portsmouth Municipal Court. Jones has a holder placed on him by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.
Eventually cases will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s office against both Craft and Jones. Then to a grand jury for consideration of additional charges.
