OSHP busy with crash investigations

The Portsmouth Dispatch Center of the Ohio State Highway Patrol has been kept busy this week investigating crashes. On Monday, a head-on crash at Coles Park resulted in injury to three people, all who were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington.

The OSHP is investigating a pedestrian/vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. 50 west of Bourneville, Ohio. At 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, the Portsmouth Dispatch Center received a call about a pedestrian struck by a car.

According to the official report, a 2004 Honda Accord driven by Victoria Wafford of Bainbridge Ohio was eastbound on U.S. 50 near mile post 11 and Kyle Hurley was walking eastbound on the right side of the road. Wafford reportedly drove off the right side of the road and struck Hurley with her side mirror.

Hurley was transported to the Adena Regional Medical Center by Paxton township squad for non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is also investigating a one vehicle injury crash that occurred on Dry Run Road near Lick Run in Ross County, at 3:40 a.m.

A 1999 Dodge Dakota driven by Terry Lawless II of Waverly, Ohio was traveling northbound on Dry Run Road when he reportedly ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Lawless and a passenger, Douglas Potts of Chillicothe, Ohio were transported to Adena Medical Center. The crash is currently under investigation and conditions are currently unknown.
