The body of a missing Ross County woman has been found. Ross County Sheriff George Lavender said the body of Tiffany Sayre, 26, was found over the weekend.

Lavender and Chillicothe Police Chief Keith Washburn said investigators from the Ross County/Chillicothe Missing person’s Task Force along with investigators from Ohio BCI, responded to Cave Road in Highland County, just outside Ross County Sunday night where the Highland County Sheriff’s Office had recovered the body of an unidentified female.

The body was reportedly taken to the Highland County Coroner’s Office for identification and an autopsy. The coroner’s office subsequently reported to Task Force authorities Monday morning that it was the body of Sayre, one of three women who had been missing from Ross County. Sayre went missing from Chillicothe on May 11, 2015. The results of the autopsy have not yet been released.

Charlotte Trego, missing since May 2014, and Wanda Lemons, who disappeared in December 2014, remain missing. Earlier in the month authorities were looking into tying the three missing women into the case of Timberly Claytor, found shot to death near Massieville Road.

Jason McCrary, 36, a registered sex offender remains in the Ross County Jail on unrelated charges, but authorities are calling him a “person of interest,” in Claytor’s death and the other missing women, though he has not as yet been charged in those cases.

On Monday morning the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office reported they are still waiting for the results from evidence being tested at BCI.
