Alcohol possible factor in crash

PIKE COUNTY — A single vehicle crash in Pike County is under investigation by The Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on Lapperell Road in Pike County on Thursday at 12:35 p.m.

According to reports, a 2004 Jeep Cherokee operated by Kevin Bentley, 47, of Hillsboro, was traveling southbound on Lapperell Road when he drove off the right side of the roadway, overturned and struck a tree.

Authorities said Bentley was transported to The Ohio State University Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries by MedFlight helicopter. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
