Will there be enough Christmas wreaths to place on every grave at Arlington National Cemetery this year? As it stands now, there will not. In fact, as it stands now, Wreaths Across America is some 30,000 wreaths short of their goal of 230,000 wreaths.

Locally Dave Pack of TruckerFan has been intimately involved in the Wreaths Across America program, and he says it is not too late for people to purchase wreaths to try to cover every grave at Arlington.

“You can go to WreathsAcrossAmerica.org,” Pack said. “You can go to that website and sponsor a wreath for Arlington. It’s easy to do.”

Wreaths are priced at $15 each and they will be placed on the graves by Dec. 12 – Wreaths Across America Day. That’s when thousands of volunteers come out to place each wreath.

“I’m going to be going up there this year,” Pack said. “Last year we had one here, and the wreaths were donated, and this year we would have had to fundraise for them and that was just too much work for me.”

Since 1992, the organization has worked to mark the graves of 700,000 veterans buried in 900 locations around the country.
