October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in accordance with this fact, Hill View Retirement Center is offering a ‘Healthy Living’ series. Dr.Vincent Scarpinato, MD, a physician specializing in General and Breast Surgery at Southern Ohio Medical Center, will be the featured speaker for an open forum for questions on Monday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m.
Scarpinato will be discussing breast cancer awareness, a topic that is crucial in this day and time. Angela Adams, outreach director at Hill View, said it is all about being educated and proactive.
“We all need to be more aware and proactive when it comes to our health, and being able to be educated on what to look for, and making those annual visits to stay proactive on our health is extremely important,” Adams said. “We need to maintain health living, and a healthy body, and the only way to do that is to become educated, and get screenings when the American Cancer Society suggests that you have them at whatever age that you are at.”
She said Scarpinato will provide a wealth of knowledge that will bring awareness.
“I am sure that Dr. Scarpinato will be going over all of this during his presentation here at Hill View on Oct. 26, and probably a whole lot more, because he is a surgeon,” she said. “He will be bringing into focus the awareness of the important things that we do need to be looking for.”
Hill View will be serving a complimentary dinner before the presentation in the Oak Dining Room at 5 p.-m. Reservations for dinner must be made by Friday Oct. 23, at noon.
