A Lucasville man is sitting in the Scioto County Jail facing several felony charges after being connected to a burglary that happened Tuesday night.
Randy Allen Price, 32, has been served with a warrant for domestic court, and is now charged with aggravated burglary, obstructing official business and failure to comply.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said the sheriff’s office received a call just before 11 p.m. Tuesday from a residence on Rockford Drive in Lucasville. The caller reported noise coming from the garage, and said her husband discovered an intruder. The intruder ran to his car and fled from the scene.
From the report filed at the scene, detectives were able to identify the suspect vehicle, registered to a woman living on Morris Lane in Lucasville.
On Wednesday, deputies located the suspect vehicle, occupied by Price, driving around Valley High School. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, Price did not comply and continued driving to 332 Morris Lane, where he then attempted to shut the garage door to elude deputies.
Deputies were able to crawl under the door and apprehend Price for the outstanding warrant.
Donini said that while searching the house, a stolen set of Cobra golf clubs from the burglary were recovered from inside the suspect’s residence. During the investigation detectives determined that Price was under the influence of drugs during the commission of the crime.
Price is being held on a $66,000 bond, and will appear in court on a later date.
