SOUTH SHORE, Ky. — The Greenup County Sheriff Keith Cooper’s Office (GCSO) is asking the public for help in identifying two men that have been involved in numerous recent thefts throughout the South Shore, Ky., area.

GCSO Deputy Larry Pancake said the two male suspects have been involved in a rash of thefts, stealing a host of different items, and could possibly be from Portsmouth, Ohio.

“We have been trying to find these two suspects, because they have been involved in numerous thefts in South Shore,” Pancake said. “They left behind a receipt in the South Shore Speedway, and we have received a bunch of calls, and we think they are from Portsmouth.”

Some of the items the suspects are accused of stealing are aluminum, metal, and wheels from vehicles, among a variety of in store items. The length of time that the suspects have been committing the thefts is unknown at this time, according to Deputy Pancake.

He said the case is currently under investigation by GCSO Deputy Mike Hogsten.

“So, all we know right now is that these guys are stealing from various places,” he said. “We just got this case yesterday, so we are still gathering information about it.”

Anyone who has information pertaining to the case should contact GCSO at 606-473-7037, during the day, or the Greennup County E-911 Office at 606-473-1411 after hours.
