The Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation to host a special free Question & Answer luncheon Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce, 342 Second St., beginning at 11 a.m. The luncheon will offer information regarding eye strain, back strain, and carpal tunnel.

Tim McDermott, Regional Business Consultant for BWC, is the guest speaker at the event. He will present a basic overview of Worker’s Compensation, upcoming transitions to prospective billing systems, benefits to employers and changes to rating plans and BWC program deadlines.

“We’ll cover all of the basics employers need to know, changes to how BWC premiums are paid and more,” McDermott said.

According to BWC, this program is open to businesses of all types whether they are Accredited Businesses or future accredited businesses. Additionally, the meeting qualifies as one external training credit for BWC Safety Council requirement.

Reservations to attend the luncheon will last until Monday, Sept. 14, by calling Sandra Guile, BBB Public Relations Specialist, 513-639-9126, or e-mail [email protected].
