As back-to-school dates near, the South Central Ohio Educational Service Center (ESC) in New Boston has announced their latest project, a back-to-school magazine.
With 40 pages of vivid color, the magazine features stories from all ESC-affiliated public schools as well as photos from the districts, a calendar of important dates for the districts, important tips like school bus safety, vaccination information, ways to spice up your child’s school lunch and more.
The following districts are included in the magazine: Bloom-Vernon/South Webster, Clay, Green, Manchester, Minford, New Boston, Northwest, Portsmouth, the Scioto County Career and Technical Center, Sciotoville/East, South Central Ohio ESC, Valley, the Vern Riffe School, Washington-Nile/West Portsmouth and Wheelersburg.
Conceptualized and designed by ESC Communications Coordinator, Ryan Ottney, the magazine was designed to showcase local school districts and highlight their achievements while doubling as a resource guide for parents within those districts.
“We have a lot of great things going on in our districts and we really wanted to get that word out there and show people in the community what our schools are doing,” said Ottney.
Ottney is enthusiastic about the magazine, and hopes to expand and continue the project each year.
The publication is free and will be available in the front offices of the districts mentioned above. However, it is also available at local retailers throughout the community like New Boston Walmart, Portsmouth Kroger, the Scioto County Welcome Center, the Portsmouth Public Library, Market Street Cafe, Century 21 Empire Realty, Coffee @ The Lofts, Scioto Advantage and the front office (room 165) of the South Central Ohio ESC located at 522 Glenwood Ave., in New Boston.
