All week at the Scioto County Fair, the Team Rock Ninja Experience put on shows for people in attendance. Jumps, kicks, and flips were done, sometimes even through fire. This acrobatic show has traveled the world and has been on America’s Got Talent, spent the week with people from Scioto County.
Kyle Palmer is the team leader of Team Rock Ministry. He, his family, and his team does shows all year round.
“We travel all over the world doing shows,” Palmer said. “We can be found in fairs, festivals, churches, schools, and we also go overseas and do work with missionaries from all across the world. Our goal is to go out and use entertainment as a means to get people listening. We want them to stop what they’re doing long enough to hear the gospel.”
The team members are of professional caliber.
“All of the guys on our team have played roles as stuntmen in movies,” Palmer said, “and we’ve been on America’s Got Talent. Even though we’ve done these things, we’re still excited when we get to come be a part of a local fair.”
While in the area, the team has spent some time locally in Portsmouth, Ohio.
“Wherever we are, we like to visit the local restaurants,” Palmer said. “We visited The Café in Portsmouth, which was great. One of the gentlemen working there has a mutual friend with us, so you see it really is a small world.”
The Team Rock Ninja Experience gets people from the crowd involved, and they team members will talk with people after the show. Palmer also spoke highly of the fair board.
“We’re constantly going to fairs all year long,” Palmer said. “A lot of times local people don’t know how good they have it. Your fair is one of the best we’ve been to all summer. You have amazing facilities and an excellent board who is super kind and welcoming. The carnival is very clean, and we aren’t walking in mud because there are nice asphalt walkways. There has been a lot of great entertainment, and the volunteers actually care that this place looks good. For us, this has been a breath of fresh air.”
Palmer and his team also acts as an advocate for an organization called Childfund International. This is an organization that seeks to find sponsors for kids living all over the world in extreme poverty.
“These are kids who don’t have clean water, schooling, sanitation, and they need a lot of help,” Palmer said. “For 33 dollars a month, people are able to sponsor one child to make sure they have access to clean water, food, and teachers in the community so they can get a real education. It also covers costs of their medication. There a lot of little things that can completely change how someone lives.”
