Man faces multiple drug charges

Police have confiscated heroin, cocaine and marijuana and arrested a Dayton man on multiple drug charges in the process.

Robert W. Amos, 29, of 4617 Saint James Ave., Dayton, is charged with possession of drugs-heroin, possession of criminal tools, possession of drugs-cocaine, trafficking in drugs containing cocaine, trafficking in drugs containing heroin and trafficking in drugs containing marijuana.

Portsmouth Police said, around 3:46 a.m. Tuesday, they approached Amos and a woman lying in a car in the 1300 block of 14th Street. Officers said Amos gave them permission to search his person and when they did they located 10 individual bags containing 12.88 grams of a leafy vegetation which they believed to be marijuana; four off-white rocks believed to be crack cocaine and five individual bags believed to be and subsequently field-tested to be heroin. Officers also seized a set of scales.

Officers said they read Amos his rights and transported him to the Scioto County Jail.
