Federal legislation is moving quickly through Congress that will make dramatic changes to the nation’s health care system – particularly in rural areas. Many Southern Ohioans are expressing concerns and fears to their doctors about how the proposed changes would affect the cost and quality of their health care insurance coverage.
This Town Hall meeting will provide Ohioans with the opportunity to get answers from medical professionals who serve patients in Southern Ohio and to share their health care insurance coverage stories with their neighbors. Audience members will be given ideas on what type of action steps they can take to ensure their healthcare benefits will not be lost.
Speakers for the event include Dr. Ellis Frazier, Family Medicine, Kathi Domalski, R.N., Dr. Gregory Lam, Cardiologist, and Dr. Daniel Skinner, Assistant Professor of Health Policy at Ohio University. The moderator will be Portia Boulger of Appalachians Rising. Frazier, Lam, Skinner, and Boulger will be available to assist attendees who wish to share their healthcare stories during the town hall.
The event is co-sponsored by Appalachians Rising, Conversation Ohio, For Our Future, Progress Ohio, and Rural Organizing, and individuals who wish to attend can RSVP at www.bit.ly/2rX8TAM.
