Two dead in shooting incident

Police in Jackson, Ohio, are investigating the shooting deaths of two people early Monday morning. According to Jackson Police, at approximately 6:58 a.m. officers responded to a 911 call in which the caller told officers they heard screams and shots fired at 133 Ohio Ave., in Jackson.

On arrival, officers said an adult male subject was lying in front of a residence. A second adult male and adult female were located in the residence. Both appeared to have been shot. Jackson County Deputy Coroner John Peters pronounced the two males dead at the scene. The female was transported to Holzer Hospital in Jackson and, according to police, her medical condition is unknown at this time.

A young child was also located in the residence but was uninjured and subsequently turned over to family members.

The names are being withheld pending notification of relatives.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification is assisting the Jackson Police Department with the investigation.
