Community Action Organization (CAO) of Scioto County Board of Directors and Executive Director Steve Sturgill are officially announcing the 2015 Robert Walton Scholarship winners. The scholarship is named in honor of former CAO Executive Director Walton.
Sturgill said they are proud to offer the scholarship to the students, and are looking forward to the upcoming Bob Walton Golf Scramble event.
“We are very proud to announce the 2015 recipients of the Robert Walton Scholarships today as we anticipate the 4th Annual Bob Walton Memorial Tournament Golf Scramble which will be held at the Shawnee State Park Golf course on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 8 a.m,” Sturgill said. All of the funds raised from this event go to awarding scholarships on an annual basis and since the events inception in 2012 we have awarded nine scholarships to Scioto County students.”
The four scholarship recipients were introduced and honored at the July 27, 2015, CAO of Scioto County Board meeting, and include the following students, Brianna McGraw of Minford High School and Scioto County Career Technical Center, Sky Oliver of Portsmouth High School, and Allison Sargeant of Northwest High School, all 2015 graduates. The 2015 COAD/CAO of Scioto County Stivison Scholarship winner is Jordyn Baker from Valley High School.
