A Scioto County man was flown by helicopter to a Huntington, West Virginia hospital after a crash on Carey’s Run Road Thursday. Matthew Howard of Carey’s Run Road was transported by Med-Flight to Cabell Huntington Hospital after a two-vehicle crash.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a silver 2009 Dodge Ram, driven by Wesley R. Cassidy of Carey’s Run Road, was southeast bound on Carey’s Run Road, and Howard, operating a black 2006 Saturn, was northwest bound on the same road.
Troopers said Cassidy drove left of center and struck the left rear panel of Howard’s vehicle.
Dispatcher Sonia Banks said Howard’s car continued off the left side of the roadway, striking a tree, and ending up in a small stream.
Howard was airlifted to Cabell Huntington with non-life threatening injuries.
Cassidy was transported by Portsmouth Ambulance to Southern Ohio Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
