The Rejoicing in Recovery Group at Cornerstone United Methodist Church (UMC) will welcome Amy Lambert-Frowine once again to Portsmouth on Thursday, Aug. 27, at at 6 p.m. Frowine’s message is one of recovery, freedom, hope and overcoming addiction with through the power of God.
Rhonda Amato, coordinator and team leader for Cornerstone’s Rejoicing in Recovery, said Amy Lambert-Frowine, was recently married, and has made a tremendous impact here in the local area. She said Frowine led a event called, ‘Invasion’ in the summer of 2014 which brought thousands to Spartan Stadium.
“She was recently married to our former Rejoicing in Recovery team leader Bo Frowine, so now she is Amy Lambert-Frowine,” Amato said. “Amy is a recovering heroin addict and a radical lover of jesus. She is the founder of hopeuprising and city invasion. Portsmouth hosted city invasion last July 12, 2014, with over 3000 people in attendance. Lives were changed at that event. People gave their lives to Christ, people were baptized and people were entering into treatment for addiction.”
She said Frowine serves as a beacon of hope to many in the Portsmouth area.
“Amy brings hope to Portsmouth. She brings the truth of the gospel and a reminder that God is waiting for us no matter what ever we’ve done no matter how far we think we are, he is waiting,”she said. “Amy also shows that recovery from drug addiction is possible.”
She also said the event is open to the public, and people should feel free to bring a friend along to hear Frowine speak on Aug. 27.
