SSU students to serve as Marketing interns

The startup tech company,, has selected Shawnee State University Sociology students, Mara McGee and Jacob Harris, as its marketing interns for the Spring 2017 semester.

The company aims to provide clear and accessible explanations of blood test results for people seeking further clarification of their blood work. On its website,, it states, “We often hear, ‘The doctor told me everything was fine, but when I received my results, there were abnormal values.’ Review My Results was formed by emergency physicians after realizing a need for explaining patient’s results in clear, simple language and alleviating their fears.” The company promises a detailed explanation of results within 48 hours.

The company was founded by Dr. Paul Calner, E.R. Physician, in response to the growing need for assurance in their blood work in an age of growing depersonalization between doctors and patients.

“The idea for the company started after both friends and family had multiple questions about abnormal results, and found it difficult to access their doctors. The recent trend in medicine is to provide patients with access to their blood work on a web portal, allowing them view the results themselves. While the intention was good, we have provided patients with information, while simultaneously failing to provide the tools or time to ensure patients understand these results. It was my goal to provide an affordable service that is tailored to patient’s personal results in a language they can understand,” said Dr. Calner.

The company currently offers its services to both Massachusetts and New Hampshire and hopes to expand to additional states in the future.

“This is a great opportunity for our students to gain experience and expand their knowledge of demographics and online marketing research. It is great to see a dynamic, new company have confidence and trust in our Sociology students,” said Dr. Sean Dunne, Coordinator of the Sociology program at SSU.
