A Wheelersburg man has been arrested for pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor. Dean Miller, 35 of Wheelersburg, was charged with one count of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor a felony of the fourth degree.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office was contacted by a parent around July 14, 2015 who stated that she found inappropriate texts and messages on her son’s phone from and adult male. A detective was able to meet with her to file a report and start an investigation.

Donini said after the investigation was completed a search warrant was issued and served at the suspect’s residence on Friday. It was during that investigation that a phone and a computer were taken into evidence to be forwarded to The Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification (BCI&I) for further testing.

Miller is being held on a $5,000 bond and will appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Monday Aug 10, 2015.

Donini said it is an ongoing investigation that could result in more charges being presented to the Scioto County grand jury on a later date.

Donini said anyone with information concerning the case should contact Detective Jodi Conkel at 740-351-1091.
