Southern Ohio Medical Center has announced the appointment of Matthew J. Miller to the SOMC Board of Directors. His term, which began Jan. 11, will remain effective through June 2019.
A Wheelersburg native, Miller has worked in the Environmental, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) field for 22 years, holding positions with the United States Department of Energy and the commercial Pulp and Paper Industry. He currently serves as the ESH&Q manager for Wastren Advantage, Inc. (WAI) in Piketon, Ohio, and is the owner/investor of multiple local restaurants, including The MILL Tavern, Penn Station – East Coast Subs, and Papa John’s Pizza.
Miller graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Hygiene from Ohio University in Athens and is a Certified Safety Professional. He is the president of the Wheelersburg Board of Education and has served on the board for 15 years. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Society of Safety Engineers.
Miller resides in Wheelersburg with his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Elizabeth, Matthew, Isabella, Xavier, and Giselle.
