MCDERMOTT — Mary Ann Hamer, 55 of Brookside Drive, McDermott, Ohio passed away Friday December 16, 2016 at her home. She was born February 23, 1961 in Portsmouth Ohio, to Ralph C. Eichenlaub of Lucasville, Ohio and Doris N. Adkins Eichenlaub of Portsmouth, Ohio. On September 27, 2002, Mary was united in marriage to Phillip Scott Hamer who survives. Also surviving are her children, William Ray Hoover and Bobbi Storer and husband Zach both of McDermott; stepchildren, Sarah Jayne of Tucson, Arizona, Zachary Hamer, Michael Hamer and wife Brenda both of Columbus, Ohio Kirstie Hamer of Fresno, California; step grandson, Davy Hamer, brother, Raymond Eichenlaub and wife Bev of Otway, Ohio and a sister, Glenna Hamblin of Portsmouth as well as several special nieces nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert V. Hoover and a granddaughter, Lillian “Lilly” Storer.

Mary was an area supervisor for KFC/ Bagshaw Enterprises, a member of Beech Fork Community Church, a member of D.A.R. (Daughter of the American Revolution) and attended Lakeside Church in New Boston, Ohio. Mary was a constant source of strength and encouragement to everyone she met. She loved her husband and children more than words could ever express. Her faith in God was unmeasurable and an inspiration to everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we rejoice in knowing that she is in Heaven and at peace, for we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday December 19, 2016 at the Beech Fork Community Church, with Pastor Doug Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Scioto Burial Park, McDermott. Friends may call at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway from 5-8 p.m. Sunday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
