Local band Mothman has decided to help pay-it-forward this holiday season with a benefit concert at Port City Cafe & Pub, 424 Chillicothe Street in Portsmouth on Dec. 9.
Mothman’s front man Todd Martin said the event was inspired to give back to the community that has helped to support his music career and the band.
Mothman is a frequently featured band at the pub so it seemed natural that the benefit take place at Port City.
“This year my band has been fortunate to stay busy playing music, but we didn’t have a chance to do many charity benefits. Last week I spoke with the staff at Port City and they are always interested in benefiting the community in any way they can,” said Martin. “In a matter of hours we came up with this benefit.”
They will be collecting toys, canned food items and new or gently used coats and blankets. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Below is a list of suggested items:
Baby food, formula/bottles, diapers/wipes, baby oil/soap/lotion
Diapers, hair accessories, toys (new), backpacks, socks, underwear
